Service Description

Targeted treatment of thread veins, broken capillaries and vascular concerns using the wavelengths that reach haemoglobin specifically. Also used for the persistent redness and flushing of rosacea. Delivered on the Lumenis Stellar M22. The vessel absorbs the light, heats and collapses, and is cleared by the body over the following weeks. Facial thread veins on the nose and cheeks usually respond well, often within one to three sessions. Rosacea is managed rather than cured: light reduces the background redness and the frequency of flushing, and maintenance is usually needed. Larger leg veins are a different problem and are often better treated elsewhere, which we will tell you at assessment rather than after. Expect mild swelling and a slightly raised, red look along the treated vessels for a day or two. Every course begins with a skin type assessment and patch test, at no charge. It is not suitable during pregnancy, on recently tanned skin, while taking light-sensitising medication, or with an active skin infection in the area. Darker skin types need a careful assessment first, as the risk of pigment change is higher. Sessions are usually about four weeks apart. Clients come to our East Finchley clinic from across London.
