What this is for

Rough, bumpy skin and visible pores come from slow cell turnover, oil and sun damage. Exfoliating acids and vitamin A smooth the surface and keep pores clearer. Pores cannot be closed, but they look smaller when they are clean and the skin around them is smooth.

Which product to choose

  • Daily exfoliating lotion: Obagi Nu-Derm 4 Exfoderm 57g for normal to dry skin, Obagi Nu-Derm 4 Exfoderm Forte 57g for normal to oily, or Obagi-C Rx Exfoliating Day Lotion 57g.

  • Pores and congestion: Obagi CLENZIDERM M.D. Pore Therapy 2 148ml.

  • Weekly acid treatment: OBAGI CLENZIDERM M.D. Resurfacing Multi-Acid Peel Pads (30 pads).

  • Vitamin A: Obagi Retinol 0.5 28g, Obagi Retinol 1.0 28g, or Obagi Retinol + PHA Refining Night Cream 50ml.

  • Weekly polish: Obagi Professional-C Microdermabrasion Polish + Mask 80g.

  • Complete routine: Obagi Nu-Derm Skin Transformation System Fx.

How to use

  • Start with one main exfoliant, not all of them at once.

  • Exfoderm: once a day after cleansing and toning.

  • Retinol at night, with acids on different nights while your skin gets used to them.

  • If skin stings, turns red or flakes heavily, stop exfoliants for a few days and use Obagi Rebalance Skin Barrier Cream 48g.

  • SPF every morning. Freshly exfoliated skin burns more easily.

What to expect

Smoother skin in 2 to 4 weeks and finer-looking pores in 6 to 12 weeks. Do not use retinol if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Prescription options

We have prescription vitamin A treatments that refine texture and pores more strongly than retail products. They are available after a consultation.

In clinic

Microneedling improves acne scars and deeper texture, and clinical peels give faster results than home exfoliants.
